For several years, the district has been using a strategic plan to guide its decisions in curricular, extracurricular, financial, and system-wide initiatives. Each year the Superintendent and Administrative Team review the progress made on each initiative in the Strategic Plan.  They then determine what adjustments need to be made, including removing completed initiatives and adding new ones.  Some of the data used to make these decisions include the following:

  • Parent and staff survey results
  • Recommendations from K-8 Content Area Teams, Building Leadership Teams, District Technology Team, grade level teams
  • Recent mandates and new legislation, e.g., (the new federal health and wellness policy, reauthorization of IDEA (federal special education law)
  • Input from parents, staff, and board members and members of various committees:  the District Strategic Plan Steering Committee, School Improvement Committees, Parents for Supportive Education, the Finance Committee, the Facilities Committee, and the Parent/Staff Discipline Committee
  • Professional development meetings attended by administrators and lead teachers

In the fall of every year, we publish our goals and initiatives for the current school year and our accomplishments from the previous year.
